Premature Blessings

Blessing

wpid-DAILY-THOUGHT.jpgNumbers 11:19-20 “You will not eat it for just one day, or two days, or five, ten or twenty days, but for a whole month—until it comes out of your nostrils and you loathe it…”

We can only enjoy blessings within God’s timing.

If we start to force the hand of God because we are craving more and are impatient, God will likely grant what we ask for, but we will loathe it! Do you ask for opportunites to share your faith, then watch the opportunity pass you by? Do you long to serve/lead more, but drop out because of other committments?

In Be Prepared, I shared that I saw a pattern in my life, where opportunities & responsiblities often came at the same time. Blessings soon became burdens because I had to be very organized and prepared to deal with their timing.

Premature blessings become burdens.

The disciples craved blessing and honor, but they didn’t realize how much it would cost them. Be careful what you ask for, a premature blessing will soon become a burden. Seek God’s timing above his blessing!

Matthew 20:22 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup I am going to drink”
