Outshining Others

Philippians 2:15 “…Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky”

As I expressed in This is me Shining, God wants us to shine as bright as we can, to be the best we can be and do all that we can to bring God glory.

The only problem with this is that we may often find ourselves outshining others. Whether it be the depth of our character, the riches of our blessing or the height of our gifts, we can find ourselves in situations where we are almost embarrassed for what God is doing in us!

Don’t let somebody else’s lack diminish your plenty!

It can be quite an awkward situation to be in really, because we have resolved to give everything we’ve got to God and to ‘run the race’ with perseverance, but at the same time we are eager to not show others up or make them feel discouraged.

1 Corinthians 10:29 “…For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience?”

Do you ever feel embarrassed for how much God is blessing you? Do you ever feel judged for having a greater sense of character? We need to resolve that our freedom to shine and be the best we can be should never be hindered by the conscience of others.

Your playing small does not serve the world!
