Hope is Hard-workDaily Thoughts
Colossians 1:5 “For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel”
Is hope something we possess?…or something we are waiting for?
Hope is a futuristic philosophy, the acknowledgement that our reward and treasure is coming, but is not here yet. That’s why hope can be hard work, because we putting all of our energy and passion into something that isn’t a reality yet. Hope is hard work because there is the continual acceptance that our reality is less than what we want it to be.
Hope says “You don’t have it yet…but it’s coming”
It’s like the difference between cash and profit in economics. Cash is a real and present commodity, however profit is often just a theoretical projection. We expect to make so much profit, it isn’t here yet…but it’s coming.
Romans 8:25 “But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it”
For the believer, hope does not stop when we achieve the right things, get the right job or buy the right house…hope is a lifelong perseverance to eternity with our Father. Hope stops when we stop.
