God of ChangeDaily Thoughts
Isaiah 55:11 “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it”
What I’ve learnt being an engineer is that you cannot measure voltage from just one point. Rather, voltage is the ‘potential difference’ of charge between two points, therefore you must measure the change to find the voltage.
We only sense and experience God when he is on the move and changing things in and around us. God is not interested in entertaining us, if it’s not going to bring about change in our lives. His word goes out but never returns void, it always has a purpose, it is always working, always bringing change.
The Voice of God = The Work of God
Why did Jesus always tell people that he had healed to not reveal who he was? Because he wanted to let his miracles, his works of change to speak for themselves. God is and always has been about change. God is the God of freedom, restoration, liberation, blessing, growth and justice, ultimately the change of a person’s state of life to a better one.
We always think intimacy with God is accurately hearing his voice. But if God’s word always brings about change, then intimacy is actually more about prompting, recognizing and responding to the work of God in our lives.
