Fruitful LivesDaily Thoughts
I always tend to feel that our lives are very watered down from what they should be, or at least what we hope them to be. Take evangelism for example, I feel like to be really fruitful in that area I have to share the gospel every day, being very verbal and in-your-face about it. The problem is…
I don’t want to be like that…but I do want to bear fruit.
Whilst thinking about this issue, I really felt God make it clear to me that the fruitfulness of my life is not about what I do, it’s about who I am. Even God did not call himself “I DO”, he called himself “I AM”. As I shared yesterday, even God defines himself by who he is, not what he does.
Galatians 5:22 ” But the fruit of the Spirit is…
The fruit of the Spirit is about who I am and how I hold myself. It is a question of character, not works. It is God who puts healthy things to work. Just as Brian Houston says that healthy churches grow; healthy people, bearing a fruitful character, will naturally do good works.
Measure yourself by who you are, not what you do. Right actions flow out of a right heart and God provides opportunities to exercise our character. Don’t be disappointed by the lack of opportunities or results in your life, only God can change them.
